What a Year – Our 2025/2026 Journey

As we reach the end of this inspection cycle, we’ve taken some time to look back on everything that’s happened across PSS Care Group this year. And honestly… what a year it has been. Busy, inspiring, transformative and full of moments that reminded us exactly why we do what we do.
This year brought four Ofsted inspections, two Community of Communities peer reviews, and a CofC self‑review.
Every home achieved GOOD in all areas, which is something we are incredibly proud of not because of the rating alone, but because of what those outcomes say about the relationships, the consistency and the culture our teams build every single day.
Across all inspections and reviews, the same themes kept appearing: children who feel emotionally safe; homes that feel warm, welcoming and lived‑in; and staff who are patient, kind, playful and deeply attuned to the young people in their care. Inspectors and reviewers recognised teams who use curiosity, empathy and therapeutic thinking not as a script, but as a natural part of how they support each child. They saw adults who respond thoughtfully, who reflect openly, and who show up with heart even on the toughest days.
Our relational culture stood out too. The day‑to‑day moments, shared jokes, small achievements, gentle conversations, celebrations of progress all came through strongly.
Reviewers described teams who were honest, open and reflective, and who felt safe to talk about both successes and challenges. That psychological safety is something we value deeply, and it was wonderful to see it recognised.
But this year wasn’t just about inspections. It was a year of huge growth and positive change for us as an organisation. We launched our fresh new look, new branding, new logos, a brand‑new website and updated social pages. Same name, same heart… just a clearer reflection of who we are and who we’re becoming.
We introduced two caravan holiday homes to give our young people opportunities for joy, rest, exploration and memory‑making. We welcomed our in‑house therapists, ensuring that therapy became a basic right for every young person, and that staff had access to meaningful emotional support too.
Our therapeutic model was rolled out across all homes, supported by detailed training, coaching and space for curiosity and reflection. Our therapeutic training was approved and delivered multiple times throughout the year, and our teams embraced it with real enthusiasm and openness. We also joined the Royal College of Psychiatrists Community of Communities quality network, strengthening our commitment to learning and continuous improvement.
We also took important steps towards our future educational offer, welcoming our Therapeutic Education Manager and beginning to shape something we believe will make a real difference for our young people.
Looking back, what stands out most isn’t the ratings or the new branding it’s the people. It’s our teams showing up with warmth and consistency. It’s the humour, the resilience, the openness. It’s the children trusting us with their feelings, their hopes, their worries and their stories. It’s the progress, the brave steps forward, and the everyday moments of connection that make this work matter.
We are incredibly proud of what this year has held. And the best part is… we’re just getting started.
We already have exciting plans for 2026/2027. More development, more creativity, more therapeutic depth, and more opportunities for the children and teams at the heart of PSS Care Group.
Here’s to everything we’ve achieved together and to the next chapter!
